Bit Bent
Discover a safe and inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ young people at Bit Bent, our drop-in service at the Belconnen Youth Centre. We understand that it can be challenging to find acceptance and support, which is why we’re here to provide a welcoming environment for you to be yourself. Whether you’re looking for resources, connections, or simply a place to hang out and be with like-minded individuals, Bit Bent has got you covered. So drop-in and be a part of our community today.
Since its inception around 20 years ago, Bit Bent has provided a culturally safe, participant-led space for LGBTQIA+ young people aged 10 to 25 and their allies. Within that age cohort, we know that life experiences vary.
To facilitate developmentally appropriate, safe conversation and effective sharing of experiences, we offer two age cohorts for Bit Bent. Young people aged 18-25 years old meet on Monday evenings from 5:30pm-7:30pm, and young people aged 10-17 years old meet on Thursday afternoons from 4pm-6pm.

Our groups are participant-led and the activities are based on group member’s interests. We provide the space, supervision and support for young people to meet peers outside of their regular school and social settings
