Planned support

Planned Support is a program designed to assist young people between the ages of 10 and 25 in achieving their goals in a structured and organised manner. The program is tailored to help young people with a wide range of needs, including those related to work, education, and training.

The Planned support program at the Belconnen Youth Centre is a comprehensive and holistic approach to helping young people achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

We provide tailored support to help young people with a wide range of needs, including those related to work, education and training, as well as giving them the structure and support they need to achieve their goals.

Whether young people need assistance finding employment, pursuing education or training opportunities, or navigating community services, we can help to meet their needs.

Employment and Education

Supporting young people as they navigate the job market or education options is a critical component of Planned Support.

Our youth workers are skilled and experienced in providing young people with the resources and support they need to find and maintain employment or commit to study in an area of interest. We also help young people develop the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the workforce or at an educational institution.

We know that finding meaning in work or study may come with a number of challenges, and our Planned support team enables young people to navigate these barriers.

Community service navigation

We can help young people navigate the complex network of community services and government support programs, providing the guidance and assistance they need to access the support they are entitled to, including services like Centrelink.

Community connections

The Community connections component of our Planned support program places a strong emphasis on helping young people form connections within their community. We recognise the importance of social support and a sense of belonging in overall wellbeing.

By providing opportunities for young people to connect with others, we help them build a support network that can provide them with emotional and practical support. This can include connecting young people with peers at our social programs or to other community groups to meet their needs.
