Our Philosophy

Ginninderra Early Childhood Centre’s small, intimate setting allows for a holistic approach to education and care for your child. In addition to our academic curriculum, we nurture their social and emotional growth, creativity and physical wellbeing, to help them become confident, well-rounded individuals.

We believe children are competent and capable, and emphasise the importance of their rights. We aim to build each child’s sense of empowerment by supporting interdependence and encouraging autonomy. Each child builds their identity at our service through their relationships with their family, Educators, peers, resources, nature and the local community.

  • Accountable: We believe that being accountable and critically reflecting on our pedagogical practices is essential to providing exceptional services that cater to each child and family’s unique needs.
  • Ethical: We affirm our dedication to promoting children’s positive self-esteem, self-worth and self-regulation, and aim to create a space that empowers children to thrive and succeed in all areas of their lives.
  • Inclusive: Our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment is grounded in the belief that every child has the right to equal opportunities to learn, grow and thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances.
  • Respectful: Our Educators and team are dedicated to creating a dynamic and engaging environment that fosters growth and development while providing tailored support that meets each child’s individual needs.
  • Optimistic: Our approach is grounded by the child-centred approach embedding the eco-system theory. By providing opportunities for children to enhance their skills and build upon their strengths, we aim to empower them with the tools they need to succeed in all areas of their lives.
  • Innovative: By encouraging a sense of wonder and curiosity, we aim to instil in children a lifelong love of learning and a passion for discovery, empowering them to take an active role in their own learning journey.
