We are excited to announce the launch of our new NEIST (Neurodevelopment Early Intervention, Support, and Training) Playgroup at Nicholls Community House. This playgroup is specifically designed for children aged 0-5 who are neurodivergent, including those with ADHD and autism, offering them a safe, supportive and engaging environment to learn and grow.
The NEIST Playgroup is the latest addition to our program of playgroups. You can explore the full range of playgroups we offer here.
Starting from Wednesday 21 August, the NEIST Playgroup is held weekly from 10 to 11:30am. The playgroup is led by Fiona, an expert psychologist and passionate facilitator with over 20 years of experience working with children on the autism spectrum.
At the NEIST Playgroup, we understand the importance of creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where children can thrive. The sessions are tailored to the learning styles and interests of neurodivergent children, offering a mix of sensory activities, creative play, and social interaction, all within a supportive setting.
As a parent or carer of a neurodivergent child, we understand that it can feel confusing and isolating to navigate. Attending the playgroup gives you the opportunity to connect with other families on a similar journey, share experiences and build a support network. You will also have access to Fiona’s wealth of knowledge and experience, making it an ideal time to ask questions, get advice or discuss any concerns you may have about your child’s development.
What makes the NEIST Playgroup even more special is that it’s completely free and no bookings are required. Simply drop in when it suits you and your child during the scheduled session time. We want to provide flexibility for parents and carers while ensuring that their children have access to quality early intervention support.
Whether your child enjoys exploring new textures, engaging in imaginative play, or simply being in a calm and welcoming space, the NEIST Playgroup is a place where they can feel at ease and make meaningful connections with other children.
We can’t wait to see the positive impact this playgroup will have on the families in our community. So come along and join us for the NEIST Playgroup every Wednesday at Nicholls Community House.
