
We’re moving from standardised reporting to showing real impact. Here’s how our Social Impact Framework works. In the community sector, we often talk about “outputs, how much we do and for who.
For example, knowing that 350 families joined CRCS programs this year and 100 young people received one-on-one support matters. But numbers alone don’t tell the full story. What really matters is the difference those services and programs make to our community. At Capital Region Community Services (CRCS), we measure that difference through our Social Impact Framework. Social impact measures the overall effect our work has on the well-being of the community. Our framework focuses on three core pillars:
- Connection and Belonging – Reducing isolation and strengthening community ties.
- Purpose and Wellbeing – Highlighting growth, resilience and positive change.
- Choice and Control – Ensuring participant voices are front and centre.
Data Meets Storytelling To ensure our reporting is robust, we combine quantitative data with qualitative experience.
- The Data: We utilize participant surveys and demographic tracking to measure shifts in stability and health over time. For example, in our recent audit of Bungee Youth Services, we tracked 84 % said Bungee helped them make friends.
- The Story: Numbers only tell part of the story. That’s why we pair our data with real-life case studies like Max’s Story: Exploring Emotions and Kindness to show the human side behind the statistics.
Why This Matters By focusing on outcomes, CRCS guarantees quality. We can show that we deliver real value through a stronger, healthier, and more connected Capital Region.
