If you’ve ever walked into Belconnen Community Centre, you’ve probably been welcomed by one of the friendly faces at the front desk.
Whether you’re coming in for a social activity or Tiny Tumblers, asking about services, or simply dropping in for a great coffee from our café and a place to relax a while, our Central Administration team are often the first people you’ll meet. They help participants, visitors and CRCS employees navigate the many programs and services on offer, while also keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
One of those friendly faces is Stella.

Stella has been part of the CRCS team for around 18 months, working as a Customer Service Officer in Central Administration. In her role, she supports participants, employees and community members across a wide range of services, helping connect people with the information and support they need. Specifically, the Living Well program, which provides social groups and transport for the community, including older adults.
Ask Stella to describe the Living Well team and her answer is simple: Lively, lovely and caring!
It’s something she sees every day through her work supporting older people in our community.
“Living Well helps older people stay connected, access support, and make choices that enable them to live independently and enjoy meaningful social connections,” she says.
One of the things Stella enjoys most about her role is getting to know the people who walk through the doors of Centre.
“I enjoy hearing people’s life stories and learning about their passions and experiences,” she says. “It’s especially rewarding to see participants smiling and enjoying daily life.”
When she’s not at work, you’ll find Stella reading, baking, learning languages or tackling her latest challenge: learning how to crochet. After a busy week, she enjoys getting outside for a walk and
enjoying some fresh air.
For Stella, though, it’s the people who make CRCS such a special place to work.
“I love the positive atmosphere and the wonderful people,” she says. “The smiles, laughter and sense of community make CRCS such a welcoming place.”
And that’s exactly what many people experience when they visit Belconnen Community Centre.
