Community playgroups

Children learn through play, and our Families program offers a wide variety of play experiences for children up to five years old in a safe and supportive environment.

Generally run weekly during school terms, our free playgroups are facilitated by friendly and experienced CRCS Family Education team members, who provide age-appropriate and interactive activities, with a focus on building connections within the community and families.

Exploring, playing, learning and socialising at playgroups enhances children’s physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.

At playgroups, our team can also provide support for parents and carers on their parenting journey. This includes information and suggestions regarding parenting and facilitating referrals to our other services or external services if required.

Unless otherwise stated, no bookings are required. Just drop in and have fun!

Our playgroups:

• Atfaal Family Playgroup (with Gungahlin Child and Family Centre) for Muslim families with children up to five years of age, 10 to 11:30am on Tuesdays from 30 April to 2 July
• Community Playgroup at Latham Preschool, 9:30 to 11:30am on Mondays from 6 May to 1 July
• Loose Parts at Westfield Belconnen, 9:30 to 11:30am on Tuesdays from 30 April to 2 July
• Play sessions in the park at Ngunnawal, 9:30 to 11:30am on Wednesdays from 1 May to 3 July
• Koori Playgroup (with West Belconnen Child and Family Centre) for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, 10 to 11:30am on Thursdays from 2 May to 4 July
• Healthy Habits Play and Learn Group, for families enrolled in our Healthy Habits program, 9:30 to 11:30am on Fridays from 10 May to 28 June.
