Capital Region Community Services Recognised for Environmental Excellence!

We are thrilled to announce that we, Capital Region Community Services have achieved a significant milestone by becoming accredited with the prestigious Business Recycling Program. This accreditation not only recognises our commitment to environmental sustainability but also showcases the outstanding efforts of our dedicated team in reducing waste and promoting eco-friendly practices within our organisation.
In recent years, our organisation has undergone a remarkable transformation. Through relentless dedication and innovative initiatives, we have successfully reduced the percentage of landfill from a staggering 79% to an impressive 41%. Additionally, we have significantly decreased the total amount of waste produced, going from 13.2 cubic metres down to an impressive 9.6 cubic metres. These achievements reflect our unwavering dedication to making a positive impact on the environment.
One of the key factors behind our success is the introduction of our exceptional Sharepoint Sustainability Site. This platform has allowed us to streamline our sustainability efforts, enabling better communication, collaboration, and the implementation of eco-friendly practices across our operations.
We are thrilled to share that our efforts have not gone unnoticed. Everyday Climate, an esteemed environmental organisation, has gifted us a well-deserved trophy and certificate in recognition of our outstanding achievements. Furthermore, we are thrilled to be featured on the accredited businesses interactive map on the Everyday Climate Choices website, solidifying our position as a leader in sustainable business practices.
With these accolades and acknowledgments, we are motivated to continue our journey towards environmental excellence. As we look forward to the future, we are excited to participate in the upcoming Climate Choices Business Awards. We strongly consider nominating ourselves in 2024 to further showcase our dedication to the environment and sustainability.
None of this would have been possible without the hard work and commitment of each and every individual that makes up our wonderful and brilliant organisation. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our staff, volunteers, and supporters for their invaluable contributions to our sustainability mission.
