Harmony Day at Budawang
On 29 March 2024, our Budawang Early Learning Centre in Milton, NSW, hosted an event to celebrate Harmony Week with our Educators and families. After gathering on the mat for an Acknowledgement of Country and to our Children, attendees began by sharing food (an important part of any culture).
As they ate, Educators and family members shared stories linked to their culture and background. Although the stories varied, Centre Director Tracy Wiggins reflected as she listened on how, regardless of ethnicity or where you are in the world, we all enjoy similar things.
Tracy noted that the evening reminded her of a quote she recently saw online: “Gathering about the table stirs something deep within us. It creates shared memories, provides a sense of connection, and presents a canvas for conversation between those people gathered.”

These funds will go directly towards recruiting, training and supporting more volunteer transport drivers, ensuring people in our community can get to their essential medical appointments for chronic health conditions such as cancer and kidney disease.
