A simple guide to booking, planning and travelling with CRCS Community Transport.
CRCS Community Transport can help you get to the places you need to go, including medical appointments, shopping, social activities and visits with family or friends.
We want your trip to be as easy and stress-free as possible. Here is what you need to know before you travel with us.
Booking your trip
You do not always need to book weeks ahead.
In most cases, you can book transport up to 10:00am the day before your trip. Next-day bookings are often available.
If you can, please book early, especially for medical appointments.
Sometimes appointments come up at short notice. If a hospital or clinic calls you about a next-day appointment after 10:00am, please still contact us. We cannot always guarantee a booking, but we will do our best to help.
Our office team is available 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Our drivers operate between 7:00am and 7:00pm.
How shared transport works
CRCS Transport is a shared service. This means you may travel with other people who are going in a similar direction.
Shared transport helps us support more people in the community.
To help your trip run smoothly:
- please be ready 10 minutes before your pick-up time
- your travel time may change depending on distance and other bookings
- your fee is based on the most direct route between your pick-up and drop-off locations, not the shared route.
As a guide, your trip may take:
- 0–10 km: up to 30 minutes
- 11–20 km: up to 45 minutes
- 21+ km: up to 60 minutes
Sometimes trips may take a little longer so we can support more people.
SMS reminders
You will receive an SMS the afternoon before your trip.
If you have booked a return trip, you will receive two messages:
- one for your pick-up
- one for your return trip.
Please check both messages carefully.
Choosing a good time to travel
Some times of day are busier than others.
Our busiest times are usually:
- 7:00am to 10:00am
- afternoons.
Quieter times are usually:
- 10:30am to 2:00pm
- 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
Where possible, we encourage you to book shopping and social trips during quieter times. This helps keep earlier and later times available for medical appointments.
If your trip time is flexible, our friendly team can help you choose a time that works for you.
Respectful travel
Our drivers are here to support you safely and respectfully.
We ask that everyone treats our drivers, staff and other passengers with respect.
A good travel experience depends on all of us working together.
