We’re pleased to share this wrap up of our Open Day at the Belconnen Early Childhood Centre on Saturday 9 November. The event was a collaborative effort between the BECC Team of Educators and the Marketing and Communications Team.
All in all, we had a wonderful event, with over 100 parents, carers and children joining us for an exciting line-up of activities. That’s 33 families experiencing the centre, meeting its Educators and having a great time. We received a lot of interest in BECC, including some new enrolments, and many people exclaiming “wow” as they entered this wonderful centre.
As expected, face painting was a huge hit, facilitated by two princesses, Mia and Renae from The Funky Fairy. Also outside in the preschool play area were bikes, a slide, sandpit and a plant potting activity, which was a favourite. Our little visitors could choose from tomato, pumpkin or petunia seedlings to plant in their very own compostable CRCS pot to take home.
The preschool room was a hive of activity – freshly made playdough, rock painting and colouring. The toddlers room was all about nutrition. Our little guests could create plate faces using fresh fruit and veggies prepared for the occasion. Navpreet (Nav) Kaur, our Bruce ECC Centre Director spoke to parents about nutrition and provide an informative handout about healthy lunches for long daycare, as well as some recipes.
In the nursery (shoes off, please!), there were plenty of activities for the littlest of all, with BECC Educators keeping the children busy, giving parents a chance to relax and soak in the atmosphere.
Thank you to the CRCS employees who visited and made the event so special. We loved welcoming everyone for a fun day, and we hope to do it all again next year.
We currently have vacancies for permanent and casual places. Families are welcome to book a tour—contact us today!
