Once a year, CRCS Educators come together for a special day of learning, reflection, and connection. This year’s event at Gungaderra Homestead featured yoga, a brain trauma workshop, and a balloon-twisting teamwork activity. This was a fantastic opportunity for our educators to come together in the beautiful setting of Gungaderra Homestead in Harrison – creating new connections, building skills and learning from one another in a relaxed setting. Here’s a recap of the workshops and activities that made the day memorable.
Naomi kicked off the day with an engaging workshop on brain development and the impact of trauma. Our Educators then split into small groups to tackle real-life scenarios and case studies, applying their insights and exchanging ideas in an interactive feedback session. The discussions were lively and provided valuable perspectives for everyone involved.

Katyani, Twinky and Maddy from People and Culture teamed up with Larah to lead a vibrant team-building and communication workshop, where Educators joined forces to create magical creatures using their new balloon twisting skills. From mystical butterflies to octopuses and other whimsical animals, this activity brought out everyone’s playful side and encouraged teamwork and creativity.
In her self-care workshop, Neha introduced an interactive activity focused on visually measuring stress factors and exploring strategies to reduce them. This practical session encouraged our Educators to recognise and manage stress, giving them valuable tools for self-care that they can carry forward in their roles.
Radhika’s outdoor yoga session was a relaxing break in the day. Educators had the chance to stretch, unwind and enjoy some fresh air, while those who opted out took time for personal self-care activities. It was the perfect pause to recharge and refresh for the rest of the day’s activities.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined in and contributed their insights, ideas and creativity to make this day a success. Your participation and embrace of our CRCS spirit of inclusivity and optimism made all the difference.
A special mention goes to our dedicated organisers for their hard work in bringing everyone together in such an engaging day, including Naomi, Ruthie and Stella.
We hope each of you left with new strategies, an appreciation for self-care and a positive outlook to end the year, as we look forward to exciting times ahead in our Early Childhood Centres.
