Let’s Talk About What Matters to You
Have you ever felt like decisions were being made about you, without anyone actually asking you?
You’re not alone — and that’s something we want to change.
As we get older, society can sometimes forget just how much wisdom, humour, creativity, and life experience seniors bring. That’s called ageism, and frankly… it’s outdated. (So last century!)
Let’s Bust a Myth While We’re Here
Getting older does not mean:
- Losing your voice
- Sitting quietly on the sidelines
- Being “done” with fun, friends, or learning
In fact, many participants tell us they feel busier, bolder, and clearer about what matters than ever before. And that’s exactly why your ideas should be shaping the services and activities we offer.
Loneliness Isn’t a “Normal” Part of Ageing
Feeling isolated or lonely can happen at any age, but too often it’s brushed off as “just part of getting older”. It shouldn’t be.
Connection matters. Belonging matters. Being seen and heard matters.
Whether you love:
- a good laugh over morning tea
- lively conversations (yes, even healthy debates!)
- gentle movement, music, or art
- learning something new
- or just sharing stories and memories
you deserve opportunities that feel meaningful, enjoyable, and right for you.
Here’s Where You Come In
We don’t want to guess what you want.
We want to ask you.
Tell us:
- What activities actually interest you?
- Do you prefer small groups, big gatherings, or one-on-one time?
- What makes you feel welcome, respected, and included?
- What would make you think, “Yes, I’m glad I came today”?
There are no silly ideas. No “too late for that” thoughts. And definitely no expectation that everyone wants the same thing. (If we all did, life would be terribly boring!)
Help Us Do Better — Together
The best services are shaped by the people who use them.
By sharing your ideas, you help us:
- create activities that are relevant and enjoyable
- reduce isolation and build real connections
- challenge ageism by celebrating who you are now
- deliver services that respect your choices, culture, interests, and independence
In short, you help us make sure our programs reflect real lives, real people, and real interests — no assumptions.
Let’s Keep the Conversation Going
