Meet Our Intake Team – Living Well, Aged Care and Transport
Our Intake Team is often the first point of contact for older community members engaging with CRCS, and they play a vital role in shaping positive, supportive experiences from the very beginning. The team helps participants understand and access the wide range of care, activities and services available through our CRCS Living Well programs.
Through thoughtful conversations and careful information gathering, the Intake Team takes the time to understand each participant’s needs, goals and preferences. This ensures our services and communications are tailored, responsive and truly person-centred and directed. Led by Yu, and supported by Chador, Shirley and Karma, the team brings professionalism, warmth and deep care to every interaction, setting the foundation for strong relationships and meaningful engagement with CRCS.

Meet Miss Yu
Originally from South Korea, Miss Yu has proudly called Australia home for around 10 years and has been part of the CRCS Living Well team for the past year and three months. After swapping Sydney for Canberra, she’s fallen in love with how kind and welcoming Canberrans are—though she’s still learning to live with the local hay fever! She’s a big fan of Australia’s multicultural vibe and loves getting out to try foods from all around the world.
A caring soul through and through, Miss Yu describes the Living Well team in one word: caring. She’s passionate about aged care because it allows her to genuinely make a difference, supporting older people to feel heard, respected and connected while maintaining their independence. What she treasures most is the connection—listening to people’s stories, learning from their wisdom, and knowing that even small moments of support can mean a lot. Her favourite part of CRCS is the people, and she brings warmth, positivity and a friendly smile to a team that works closely together to make sure every participant feels supported and valued.

Meet Chador
Originally from Bhutan, Chador has called the ACT home for the past 10 years and has been part of the CRCS Living Well team for almost six months. He loves Australia for its beautiful landscapes, diverse cultures and welcoming community, and feels especially at home in Canberra. With its peaceful hills, forests and open green spaces, Canberra reminds him of Bhutan and offers the perfect balance of nature, calm and city life.
Chador describes the Living Well team in one word: supportive. He enjoys working closely with others to help participants feel more independent, confident and connected to their communities. Outside of work, Chador loves staying active—playing basketball, soccer and
swimming—and spends most of his free time enjoying quality moments with his son. He also loves travelling and exploring new places to relax and recharge. What he values most about working with older people is their gratitude and friendliness and knowing that the support he provides makes a real difference in their everyday lives.

Meet Shirley
Shirley has been part of the CRCS family for 3.5 years and joined the Living Well team around seven months ago. She describes the team in one word: close-knit—a group that genuinely supports one another while working together to make a meaningful difference. Through Living Well, Shirley helps support vulnerable communities and families, empowering people to feel valued, confident and independent, while also fostering a caring environment where team members can thrive.
What Shirley loves most about working with older people is the sense of achievement that comes from seeing participants’ relief and happiness when they connect with Living Well services. Social Support Groups provide safe, welcoming spaces where people can enjoy affordable activities, stay socially connected, and remain physically and mentally active. Shirley’s favourite part of working at CRCS is the strong sense of belonging and encouragement for growth, which inspires her to keep improving and delivering positive outcomes. She believes Living Well is unique because of its commitment to respect, inclusion and open communication, creating a place where everyone feels heard, supported and empowered.

Meet Karma
Originally from Bhutan, Karma Yangdon has been living in Australia for about four years and says it’s truly started to feel like home, thanks to the country’s diverse culture and genuinely lovely people. She joined CRCS just over a month ago and is already loving being part of such a welcoming environment. Karma describes the Living Well team in one word: unity—a team that works closely together to ensure participants feel supported, heard and respected.
Outside of work, Karma enjoys unwinding with a good book, watching movies, and catching up with friends—ideally with some delicious Bhutanese spicy food and lots of laughter. She’s a self-confessed lover of rainy days and happily thrives when the weather turns gloomy! At work, she values the flexibility CRCS offers, enjoying the energy that comes from working across different offices and from home. What motivates Karma most is seeing how support—big or small—can help people feel more confident, connected and reassured, and knowing that her work helps individuals feel valued and supported every day.
