To celebrate Children’s Week, preschoolers at Ginninderra Early Childhood Centre (GECC) enjoyed a gardening session, guided by Educators and wonderful volunteers Helen and Marianne, members of our Involve group. Marianne, also the proud grandmother of one of the children, made the day extra special.
This year’s theme, “Every child has the right to a safe and clean environment,” guided our special gardening session last week, where we rolled up our sleeves to promote sustainable practices and take the opportunity to participate in some spring gardening.
Our preschool children had a blast putting on their gardening gloves and planting flowers, seedlings and seeds in various flowerbeds under the guidance of their Educators, Mel Smith and our wonderful volunteers, Helen and Marianne.
This hands-on experience not only fostered a love for nature but also reinforced our commitment to creating a nurturing environment for all children.
A heartfelt thank you to Helen and Marianne. Both are dedicated members of our INVOLVE social group, and Marianne also has a special connection as the “Oma” of one of the preschool children at GECC. Their enthusiasm and support made this a special experience.
