Yurwang Gulwan Koori Girls group

The Yurwang Gulwan Koori Girls group is an opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls aged eight to 16 years old to come together and explore their connection with culture in a culturally safe and supported environment.

The group focuses on healthy mind, body and spirit, building strong connections with culture and Country, growing young people as future leaders and strengthening relationships between schools, communities and families.

We host a range of activities in the program such as guest speakers, excursions, arts and craft and sport.

There is also a strong emphasis on celebrating days and events significant to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait community in a meaningful manner.

The Yurwang Gulwan Koori Girls group is facilitated in partnership with the West Belconnen Child and Family Centre.

Our Mob: Celebrating Through Art. A multimedia exhibition by participants in the West Belconnen Child & Family Centre’s Koori Kids and Yurwang Bullarn groups.
