Helping Bree Find Calm and Connection
Annual Report 2024 - 2025

Bree, a spirited 2-year-old, was having a tough time at her early childhood centre. She struggled with expressing herself and connecting with others, which sometimes led to biting during play – especially when things around her changed.
Educators and families were concerned, but unsure of what was causing these behaviours.
That’s when Family Foundations stepped in. A caring practitioner observed Bree closely, worked with her family and educators, and created a gentle, personalised plan to help her feel safe and understood.
Through weekly play-based sessions, visual aids, and calming strategies like deep breathing and weighted teddies, Bree began to find new ways to manage her big feelings. Her educators learned how to support her with consistent language and emotional coaching, and her family mirrored these strategies at home.
After just a few months, Bree’s biting had significantly reduced, and she was engaging more positively with her peers. Her expressive language blossomed, and her educators felt empowered and confident in supporting her growth.
This story shows how love, patience, and teamwork can make a big difference in a little life.
