The Supportive Tenancy Service (STS) helps people across Canberra to maintain a safe and stable home.
Through the Supportive Tenancy Service (STS), we provide support, advocacy and referral for Canberrans, including public and private tenants and homeowners, to maintain their housing. The program supports people who are in housing stress or may be at risk of homelessness, regardless of the reason for their circumstances.
We also provide opportunities for tenants to expand knowledge, enhance skills, access resources and build connections to communities, to help manage issues that may be impacting their capacity to maintain long-term secure accommodation.
We use a strengths-based approach in a trauma-informed and person-centred framework to bring about positive outcomes for our participants.
Common types of support we provide include:
The Supportive Tenancy Service is a consortium of Capital Region Community Services, Woden Community Services and YWCA Canberra. It is jointly funded by the ACT and Australian Governments under the National Affordable Housing Agreement and the National Partnership Agreement on Homelessness.
STS works with people who have an existing tenancy. People who are experiencing homelessness should contact OneLink. Phone: 1800 176 468 Email: info@onelink.org.au
