CRCS Joins the Canberra Day Appeal to Fund Transport for Essential Medical Appointments
This year, CRCS is excited to be part of the annual Canberra Day Appeal, teaming up with Hands Across Canberra. The appeal brings together local charities to raise funds for programs that make a real difference in our community.
One important area we’re focusing on is transport services that help people under 65 with chronic health conditions attend their essential medical treatments. Many people who need regular medical treatments – like dialysis or chemotherapy – don’t qualify for government-funded transport. Without a reliable way to get to these appointments, their health and wellbeing is put at risk. We’re stepping up to change that!

Making a Difference
Our amazing volunteer drivers play a crucial role in providing transport for people who have no other means of getting to their medical treatments. But right now, there are not enough drivers to meet demand, and the cost of fuel and vehicle maintenance can make it challenging to sustain this service.
Through the Canberra Day Appeal, CRCS can raise funds to:
- recruit and train more volunteer drivers
- cover mileage and fuel costs so volunteers aren’t out of pocket
- ensure can attend their medical treatments without stress or disruption.
With your support, we can keep this service running and help those who need it most
Your Donation will Help Save Lives
Contributions will directly support this transport service, helping to cover costs and expand the program.
The CRCS Canberra Day Appeal is a fantastic way for the community to contribute to a critical service that saves lives. Donations will ensure that people with serious health conditions can access transport when they need it most. Every contribution, big or small, helps.
