Supporting Change on Her Own Terms
Annual Report 2025 – 2026

When a parent came to CRCS Family Foundations, she was managing the demands of raising her children alongside significant external pressures. Bedtime routines and behavioural concerns had become difficult, leaving her overwhelmed and less confident. However, she was committed to creating positive change for her family.
“Meaningful outcomes are often achieved through small, consistent changes rather than large interventions.”
Reaching out to CRCS
The parent self-referred to Family Foundations for support with routines and her children’s behavioural and emotional needs. Working with a Family Practitioner, she identified her priorities: creating consistent routines, responding calmly to challenging behaviour and building confidence in her parenting. Regular communication ensured the support reflected her family’s circumstances and that she remained involved in decisions.
Developing strategies together
Through one-on-one sessions, the parent received practical coaching, parenting education and guided reflection. Together, she and the practitioner developed strategies, agreed on achievable goals and reviewed what was working. This approach recognised the knowledge, resilience and capabilities she already brought to parenting. When external pressures made it difficult to implement strategies consistently, the practitioner responded flexibly. Goals were broken into manageable steps and adjusted as circumstances changed, helping the parent remain engaged without judgement.
Greater confidence at home
The parent developed a practical toolkit for managing bedtime, maintaining routines and responding calmly to difficult behaviour. She also adjusted household routines to create more time for self-care. She reported feeling less overwhelmed, more emotionally regulated and more confident as a parent. She now feels equipped to continue adapting the strategies developed through the program. These outcomes align with the Valued, Loved and Safe, Healthy and Learning domains of ARACY’s The Nest wellbeing framework. Her journey demonstrates that effective early intervention begins by listening to families and recognising their strengths. She set the goals, made the decisions and led lasting change for her family.
