Belconnen Community Centre
Annual Report 2024 - 2025

The Belconnen Community Centre is a vibrant hub where people connect, learn, and engage in local life—reflecting its growing value through increased community use.
With a large sports hall, fully equipped gym, community theatre, and a mix of art, meeting and activity rooms, BCC supports everything from fitness and hobbies to learning and local events. Our venue hire remains deliberately affordable so community groups can access quality, well-maintained spaces. Many of the organisations that hire our facilities share CRCS’s values of inclusivity, connection and wellbeing. Their activities add to the strong sense of belonging the Centre creates.
We see many familiar faces every week, and often every day. The reception area buzzes with conversation and connection, with people coming in for programs, appointments or just to connect. Our Living Well social groups for older adults meet here regularly, and bus trips often depart from BCC. For some community members experiencing homelessness, BCC also provides a safe space to access a shower and feel part of the community.
For many, BCC is their main space outside of home. It’s a familiar, welcoming environment where they can see others, participate and feel connected. Having a safe and well-known place like this also supports help-seeking behaviour and makes it easier for people to access multiple services in one location, helping to build a stronger sense of belonging and wellbeing across our community.
One theatre hirer reflected:
“Thank you for the use of your facility. It was perfect for our purpose and the event was a total success.”
Our broader survey of CRCS participants echoes these experiences:
85% said they trust CRCS to do the right thing.
83% would recommend CRCS as a service provider to family, friends, and community
92% said they are always treated with respect.
The result is a community centre that is welcoming, trusted and genuinely community-driven.
