Located in Belconnen Community Centre, Ginninderra Early Childhood Centre is a 45-place centre that offers a comprehensive curriculum, experienced Educators and a multicultural community, providing excellent value for money. Our location also allows for excellent excursion and community-building opportunities.
We operate from 7:45am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
More than just childcare
Ginninderra Early Childhood Centre is located in the Belconnen Community Centre in Swanson Court. It provides a small, intimate setting for children aged six weeks to five years.
We care about the whole family, not just the children who attend our services. We actively involve parents in their child's learning journey and encourage open communication and collaboration between Educators and families, to create a supportive network that fosters a strong bond between home and the centre.
As a not-for-profit organisation, we are all about community, and our warm and welcoming Educators embed that within our early childhood centres. CRCS also provides a wide range of other programs and services for children and families who need additional support, with many located in the same building or on the same block as Ginninderra Early Childhood Service.
Our Educators come from a wide variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and we actively incorporate and respect multiculturalism in our centre.
Our approach is based on building positive, long-lasting and reciprocal relationships with children and collaborative partnerships with our community of families.
Food and nutrition
Nutrition is so important to us at Ginninderra Early Childhood Centre. Our qualified chef provides daily meat and vegetarian options and can cater to children with specific dietary requirements.
Under the guidance of the chef and their Educators, children often participate in the preparation of a healthy morning and afternoon tea as part of their daily routine. This hands-on experience not only provides them with practical life skills but also helps to instil a sense of responsibility and teamwork.

Belconnen town centre is served by the major roads of Coulter Drive, Ginninderra Drive, Haydon Drive and Belconnen Way. The centre also has abundant parking available at the car park opposite the Community Centre on Swanson Court.
Situated close to the Belconnen Bus Interchange, Westfield Belconnen, the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Department of Home Affairs, the centre is conveniently located to cater to parents and caregivers who live or work in Belconnen.
We understand the demands of modern family life. We offer flexible part-time and full-time programs and extended care options to suit your schedule. We also offer casual half-days to help children settle into our centre.

Our philosophy
Our centre’s small, intimate setting allows for a holistic approach to education and care for your child. In addition to our academic curriculum, we nurture their social and emotional growth, creativity and physical well-being, to help them become confident, well-rounded individuals.
We believe children are competent and capable, and emphasise the importance of their rights. We aim to build each child’s sense of empowerment by supporting interdependence and encouraging autonomy. Each child builds their identity at our service through their relationships with their family, Educators, peers, resources, nature and the local community.
Families and guardians are the primary caregivers of children, so the partnerships between families and Educators are fundamental to providing the highest quality of care and education to each child. We respect and recognise the cultural, linguistic and sociocultural diversity of the families that attend our service, which enriches our inclusive practices.
Educators, first and foremost, treat all children and their families with respect. We work in teams of key Educators to provide continuity of care.
At Ginninderra Early Childhood Centre, we actively engage in the most up-to-date research, training and professional development to ensure we are embedding and critically reflecting on our practices.
We value relationships between peers as critical to each child, impacting their learning and development. Our sociocultural learning environments enable children to engage in peer scaffolding and mixed-age interactions, developing empathy, gratitude and friendship.
Our environments support the many languages children use to share their thinking about the world around them. Children explore, experiment, hypothesise, reflect and plan with a wide range of open-ended materials, valuing and building their creativity and playfulness. Our rooms support children in moving freely and independently, and allow for choice throughout their day-to-day experience.
